This book tells the story of Amelia Westcott's life journey, a young girl from a simple family.

Her life changed drastically when she was raised into a noble environment by her uncle, since then Amelia was forced to live under the rules or protection of social expectations and moral pressure as a symbol or form of family honor.

In this book Amelia is told to be forced to become an ideal figure, namely; graceful, obedient, and worthy of being matched. However, deep down in her heart, she harbored doubts and a torturous feeling of emptiness.

One time when she almost married Alfred, a nobleman with a perfect image, it suddenly fell apart.

The past and the truth hit Amelia so that she chose to cancel the marriage, and chose to seek and pursue the meaning of love in its entirety.

Then a man named Benjamin appeared, a mysterious man with an abnormal or common background, becoming a turning point for Amelia.

Benjamin is not a perfect and good man like her ex-husband, but from that imperfection Amelia gets the true meaning of love.

Love about affection that grows and develops, about understanding caring and honesty that complement each other.

The advantage of this story is, Amelia's characterization is very strong and emotional, meaning that readers can easily enter and be carried away by the atmosphere of this story!

In addition, the use of poetic narrative language is very suitable for readers who like a classic and elegant atmosphere.

However, the lack of background information on place and time sometimes makes the story world feel hanging.

Personally, when reading this book, I gained a lot of knowledge, such as the meaning of sincerity, acceptance of shortcomings, openness, understanding and appreciation which are the main characteristics of true love.

I highly recommend this book to readers who are still in high school, because it can provide a simple understanding of life and the reality that exists.
